The aim is to establish a system of professional training in geotourism
The GDR Subbética , in Cabra, hosted the Transnational meeting of Erasmus Plus entities yesterday for the start-up of the Geotur Project.
The presentation was attended by the territorial delegate of Environment of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Francisco Algar; the manager of the GDR, Francisco Mérida, and heads of different Erasmus Plus entities.
The Geotur project is supported by the Spanish Service for the Internalization of Education, within the Erasmus + call for this year. The objective, as reported yesterday by the Regional Government, is to establish a vocational training system with high qualifications in geotourism at European level.
The Geotur project is the tool for the validation and recognition of two units of competence in geological tourism, which will be developed jointly by the Subbética GDR, project coordinator in Spain; the Department of the Environment of the Regional Government of Andalusia; Adesper, For.es in Italy, the University of Bucharest in Romania and the Norvhrad Geopark in Hungary.
The project aims to develop a series of innovative products to interpret the geological heritage and its values to tourists and visitors of European Geoparks and to provide support and assistance services to visitors and design geotourist itineraries.
It started on November, 1st and maintains its first coordination meeting between yesterday and today, exposing the work to be done.
